We are looking for an Operations Manager for our trust, with majority of the 20 hours focused on our two small schools, Beecholme Primary in Mitcham and New Valley Primary in Purley, and some time spent each week spent on central tasks. As this role is based across both schools this advert appears on Eteach twice – once for Beecholme Primary and once for New Valley Primary. You need only apply once on Eteach but your application will be for the role as advertised working across both schools.
No two days are ever alike in primary schools. We are looking for someone who is proactive, highly self-motivated, a great team player and able to manage themselves and others, remaining calm and confident whatever the day throws at you.
This is a part-time role comprising 20 hours worked over 3 or 4 days per week during school term times plus 3 weeks of the school holidays (on days that can be agreed with the Headteachers.) Precise working hours and days can be agreed by the successful candidate with the Headteachers. You will spend one day per week in each school.
Salary £22,868 (FTE salary is £43,449) which includes holiday pay of 7.4 weeks per annum. [Croydon Grade 9, NJC spinal points 28-30]. Pay progression within the range is subject to good or better performance. Your permanent employment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a three-month probationary period.
As Operations Manager you will working in partnership with PACE leaders and our Headteachers, Hayley Lewis and Pete Steward, our Finance Manager who covers both schools, and the office staff and caretakers in both schools, to ensure that our ‘behind the scenes’ arrangements support Beecholme, New Valley and PACE more generally to deliver the best possible education for the children in our care.
We are looking for a person who:
• Is an experienced manager of people and business administration, ideally in a school
• Either has strong, knowledgeable HR skills or can demonstrate the potential to develop this quickly
• Has exceptional time management skills
• Has good knowledge of health and safety in the workplace, preferably within a school setting
• Develops strong working relationships fast
• Keeps a close eye on the detail whilst maintaining an overview
